High intake of sweet foods and low life satisfaction can act as risk factors for acute coronary syndrome through synergistic interaction

Purpose Dietary and psychological status contributes to the development of coronary artery disease. However, these lifestyle factors may vary depending on ethnic environmental background, secondary prevention programs dealing with in a specific population are not well-established. We aimed assess dietary characteristics Korean patients acute syndrome (ACS) analyze their interactions as independent risk for ACS. Methods Ninety-two ACS (29 myocardial infarction 63 unstable angina) 69 controls were subjected analyses. intake was assessed by food frequency questionnaire. Psychological depression perceived stress using Patient Health Questionnaire-9 Perceived Stress Scale, respectively. Eight domains life satisfaction (marital/love relationship, leisure, standard living, job, health, family life, sex self) Domain Satisfaction Questionnaire (DSQ). Results The group had higher consumption sweets fish/seafood, well levels depressive symptoms. Additionally, they lower DSQ scores total, all eight individual compared control group. In multivariate logistic regression analysis, sweet (OR 4.57, 95% CI: 1.94–11.40) total 0.34, 0.14–0.81) identified Furthermore, factors, which displayed significant inverse correlation (ρ = −0.23, p 0.01), determined having synergistic contribution Conclusion High low can act through interaction, emphasizes demand more comprehensive approach addition, data highlight role positive wellbeing cardiovascular health.
